Hi,
After being gone for a while, I'm stung by the name a character featurette.

It's been a long time and I never name my characters anything that I'd remember anyway, usually just something that seems (in)appropriate at the time like Ranger Happypants or Nutsaks McWeasel, or maybe Butterball N'Foil.

So, anyway, I tried to answer the questions the best I could but not knowing which of 4 different homes I was living in when I registered doesn't make it any easier, nor does it make it any easier that I never bought anything in their shop so hence have no last 4 digits of a CC to give them.

So anyway, I'm looking in the couple GW disk boxes that I have still on the shelf here trying to find the original serial number but all I see is a small white pamphlet with some trial serial numbers and a manuscript that I thumbed through but could not find any serial number imprinted in that either. Maybe I need to get a special light (like a special Guild War black light that when shown down on page 104 of the manuscript will produce the serial number shining back up at me from the page - then again, maybe not).

Seriously, where was the original serial numbers in these game boxes? Loose piece of paper or somewhere more substantial. While my chracters are all low level characters I'd really rather not start over from scratch by having to buy the games all over again.

Although I do still have an unopened Eye of the North box that I bought from the Circuit City store when they went bankrupt for only $1.99 that maybe I can start a new account with if it comes to it.

I grabbed my boxes with the chapters. For Proph I got a so called Security Card with the code (loose piece of paper), for factions and NF they came on a plastic card called Game Activation card. (credit card size)
Hope you can find yours somewhere

You can't start an account with an eye of the north box, because it's an expansion requiring you to have at least Proph Fac or Nightfall. If you can't find your codes and are truly lost you might be able to find a good deal on the trilogy. I think it comes with everything but eotn.

Anyways when I bought Prophecies in early 06, inside, the disks were in a jewel case. On the back of the jewel case front paper insert was the code.

For factions and so on it was sealed in a black paper with perforated edges.

Did you do any screengrabs ingame? If so one of your character names should appear in at least one of the screengrabs.

Search for gw001.jpg (or gw001.bmp) if you don't know where they are stored.

Failing that my Prophecies code was on the back of the CD sleeve. Factions was in a black sealed paper 'wallet', NF and EoTN were on plastic cards.

Maybe I got lucky as I was cleaning out the drawers next to my desk as it's been at least 3 years since I'ce cleaned out the junk, and came across the Eye of the North access key card, which is just a sort of brown piece of cardboard sort of shaped like a wedge and open it up (fold it open) and it's got my EotN access key inside.

I just added it to my NCsoft support request so maybe it will help them to expedite my request instead of it taking them a week like some people said it might without a key.

I know I'll never find the Prophecy key, nor the Nightfall key, but maybe my EotN key will be enough for them to check against my account and see that it's mine.

I sure wish they'd get a move on, I don't generally get a lot of time and or physical energy anymore, so when I rarely do, I like to take advantage of it while I've got it.

That won't work. EotN is an expansion that requires ones of the previous games in order to be played (whereas Prophecies, Factions and Night Falls are all stand alone).

If u have never used that EotN key before, it is not linked to any account, so in that case i dont see how that is gonna help.

I bought one copy of EotN at full retail when it came out, and used it, the other one is a second copy that I bought at the circuit city closeout sale that I've not used since I already had EotN and forgot that I did when I gave them my $2.00 for it

I figured that I would likely find somebody that wanted it that I could give it to once I got home and found out that I already had EotN installed and registered, but for some reason most of my friends online and off don't care much for GW.

looking at my junk.

for prophecies, CD key is on the inside cover of the cd holder. it is a scratch-off.

for factions, in the box is a square folded piece of white paper that says Access Key Card. rip off the edges and unfold to find the key.

for nightfall, same as factions except the outside is purple.

in the UK the activation key is on the side of a credit card-like thing, one in each box. you could always try to add the en key to your account, if it only needs e-mail and password, then use that one.

Well, if u did find the key of the EotN one that u did use, that should help.
Then u have a key linked to your account.

Well, it's been over 30 hours now since I posted on the support tracker with the EotN key that is registered to my account and it sits dead without a response.

I had super hopes when I first posted my message and had a response in literally no more than 5 minutes. Now that I've given them all the information they requested, I'm sitting at 30 hours and counting without a response.

I'd bet dollar to doughnut that if I had to actually pay a monthly fee to play Guild Wars, I'd have an answer sooner than this in an attempt to keep the player playing and paying.

Sorry, just a bit frustrated about this enter a character name to login situation. I'm sure they must have sent out a notice prior to implementing this new security feature, but I surely never saw it. Had I seen it I would gladly have logged into the account for no other reason than to simply add the name of a character that I'll never delete into my book of usernames/passwords that I keep handy so that I am never locked out of accounts that require me to login.

For me Proph/EotN was a scratch and sniff credit card thing (kidding about the sniff). Nightfall (CE) was a tear open perforated piece of paper. Factions I got from the online store so I printed the email stuff and saved to a pen drive

Don't really have much choice, they've got me by the shorthairs and they probably know it too.

Just really surprised that I got a response to my intial support request in literally no more than 5 minutes, and now nothing for over 41 hours.

Of course it behooves them to continue to offer timely support in GW, if they wish for those consumers to consider GW2 when ever it's released I would think, so maybe indeed they are just seriously overwhelmed with the amount of requests coming in trying to get their accounts reinstated or trying to convince support that they were not botting etc.

My NF collectors and GW Platinum edition had the access key on a credit card like thing. Said card was stuck onto the manual inside, and had a scratch-out thing with the key on its back.
